Contrary to previous expectations, Vin Diesel and the rest of his "family" is actually coming back for a "Furious 7" sequel.
Before "Furious 7" got to be released on theaters there have been rumblings that it will be the last film for the franchise following the death of one of its male lead star, Paul Walker.
The late star who died of a tragic car crash in November of 2013, was replaced by his brothers Caleb and Cody to finish his scenes from the movie with the help of CGI.
Now that the action-packed-thriller car-chase movie has achieved record breaking success, it's understandable that Universal is going to make a sequel, which is tentatively called, "Furios 8."
There has been very few details revealed about the follow-up movie and one of it is the release date, which is scheduled on April 14, 2017.
Now that "Furious 7" has surpassed Disney's "Frozen" records after reaching the $1 Billion mark, fans can't help but ask if a sequel is going to happen.
"We're going to make the best movie you've ever seen," Vin Diesel announced at Universal's CinemaCon panel.
And while it's almost certain that most if not all of the original cast will return with possibly some new actors in tow, nothing much has really been revealed about the movie.
But there is a rumor reported by Manila Live Wire claiming that the sequel to "Furious 7" is going to be shot in the Philippines. According to the online publication, Vin Diesel has already confirmed that some scenes from the upcoming movie will be filmed in the country.
Unfortunately, no one was able to cover the said news, thus everything from the said publication should be taken with a grain of salt.
The only time Vin Diesel talked about shooting in the Philippines was when he actually visited the country, which was two years ago back when he was promoting "Fast & Furious 6."
"Our tour here was so incredible that when I go back to LA and when we start doing, developing 7, 8, 9, I will tell Universal that I want to shoot in the Philippines. That is because of you," Diesel said at the premiere night.
"This is the best premiere I've ever been to in my life. As you know my sister-in-law is from the Philippines and she told me to say this: 'Mahal ko kayo.'"
Universal nor Vin Diesel has yet to comment on the news by Manila Live Wire as of press time.
