He may have a huge fan base but "Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch doesn't seem to have luck on his side when it comes to award-giving bodies.
The Academy Award-nominated actor was snubbed once again by the BAFTA Awards for Best Actor in a TV series. According to Mirror, this is his third time being nominated for "Sherlock" but he already received the distinction for "Small Island" and "Hawking" in past years.
The Best Actor award was instead handed to Jason Watkins for "The Lost Honour of Christopher Jeffries".
BAFTA win or not, "Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch still got the best award in the world. His newly-married wife and theater director/actress Sophie Hunter is about to give birth to their first ever son or daughter.
He previously told Mirror that he was "nesting" for his family and "just living a London life."
"I want to live as much a normal life as I can," he further said. He's actually very excited to meet the newest addition to the family as well as working on future projects.
"The Imitation Game" star currently has several movies lined up for him in the next couple of years, aside from the upcoming "Sherlock" season four and Christmas special.
He will be playing Johnny Depp's brother in "Black Mass" which is expected to hit cinemas later this year. He has also joined the Marvel Universe as Doctor Strange which is schedule for release in 2016.
Disney's "Jungle Book: Origins", "Magik" and "Flying Horse" are on his calendar as well. Aside from all that, he will be going back to theater this August to play Shakespeare's Hamlet.
Along with playing Arthur Conan Doyle's iconic character, he will also be taking on Richard III for "The Hollow Crown" mini-series. Could "Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch finally win a BAFTA for that next year?
