Paul Ryan Personally Calls Stacey Dash to Thank Her For Republican Support

| By

Paul Ryan, the Republican Vice presidential running mate who will participate in a live debate with Democratic Joe Biden, phoned Stacey Dash earlier this week to thank her for her support in spite of the backlash she's received for supporting the Republicans.

Stacy Dash, a gorgeous African American woman famous for her role in the 90's hit movie "Clueless", tweeted out: "Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future. @mittromney @teamromney #mittromney #VOTE #voteromney." She accompanied the tweet with a photo of herself and an American flag.

Within minutes, Dash got several haters commenting on her tweet saying that she isn't "black enough" and is a traitor to her race for endorsing Romney. Even some celebrities spoke out against Dash.

"Wait, did Stacey Dash Really endorse Romney today?! REALLY????! Is she CRA...........??!" Samuel L. Jackson tweeted.

Stacey Dash sat down with CNN's Piers Morgan to discuss why she's decided to support Romney this year and spoke about how wonderful it was that Paul Ryan called her.

"He said thank you so much for your support, and that I was brave, and that they support me. I thought that was just so generous, and kind, you know? Lovely, really," Dash said.

Ryan, a Wisconsin congressman and Romney's running mate, tweeted on Tuesday evening that they had "a great conversation."

"Had a great conversation with @realstaceydash this afternoon. Thank you for your support!" - Paul Ryan (@PaulRyanVP).

Dash, a former Obama supporter in 2008, told Morgan that she decided to switch parties after seeing the Romney on NBC's "Meet the Press."

"I chose him (Romney) not by the color of his skin, but the content of his character," she said to Morgan.

Piers Morgan read some of these tweets to Stacey Dash. "This is somebody who tweeted, 'You're an unemployed black woman endorsing Mitt Romney. You're voting against yourself thrice, you poor beautiful idiot.' And somebody else just put, 'Kill yourself, you old hag,'" Morgan said, labeling the remarks "disgusting."

"I don't feel offended. I just feel that, you know, as a country, this is my choice," Dash responded. "This is the man [Romney] I want to lead my country."
