The CW's "iZombie" being renewed for a second season arguably became a sure thing ever since Liv Moore's pale skin and bleach blond hair first began to solve crimes by eating dead people's brains.
The episode order number as well as scheduling has not been announced but judging by the midseason series' current ratings, the CW might just give it a full season 2 as well.
Thanks to its intriguing premise, the CW show attracted millions of viewers during the premiere and has since steadily earned people's attention in the subsequent episodes.
"Veronica Mars" creator Rob Thomas' new show focuses on a doctor who turns into a zombie and decides to use her ability to help solve crimes.
According to Moviepilot, "iZombie" attempted to do something new to zombies aside from the usual trope of being brainless puppets that would kill for brains. In the freshman show, Liv does eat brains but her doing so helps her keep her sanity and functionality as a normal living human.
Her appetite isn't just for sustenance either. Whenever she eats a brain, she absorbs the dead person's memories as well as his or her little character traits. She became a kleptomaniac, an assassin, a sex and relationship expert and a passionate artist among other things in the show.
With these abilities, she helps out the police in solving crimes. Liv is currently on the cusp of discovering the bigger, more sinister zombie conspiracy going on in the shadows. It would be interesting to know how the story will progress in the second season.
Meanwhile, DC Comics got another win with the CW's "iZombie" getting renewed, according to Hollywood Reporter. "Supergirl" was already picked up by CBS for its first season.
On the other hand, the other new series from the CW, "The Messengers", is being cancelled for its low ratings. Other cancelled freshman shows include NBC's "Constantine", Fox' "Backstrom" and CBS' "Battle Creek". See the list as reported in AOL.
Meanwhile, aside from the CW "iZombie" being renewed, other new shows are seeing another season. The list includes ABC's "How To Get Away With Murder", the CW's "The Flash" and "Jane The Virgin" as well as NBC's "Mysteries Of Laura".
