After one full season, fans of Team Michael and Team Rafael have more or less settled on who to root for in "Jane The Virgin" season 2.
While rich hotelier and former playboy Rafael (Justin Baldoni) touched most of the viewers' hearts with his sincere feelings for Jane, the cast of the CW show thinks Michael (Brett Dier) is the best partner for her.
There are certain fans, however, who think Michael might just end with someone else - that being Rafael's ex-wife, Petra (Yael Grobglas). Dier himself thinks it's not a bad idea either.
"I thought it was cool. I thought it was funny that people are shipping Michael and Petra," he told TV Line when asked about the possibility of a love story between the unlikely couple.
It might seem a faraway idea but the Golden Globe-nominated series managed to pull off several outrageous twists that befit its telenovela theme in the first season. A Michael-Petra romance wouldn't be that weird.
"But who knows, right? Who knows what could happen?" Dier teased.
The 25-year-old actor also shared that he loves working with Yael Grobglas.
"We have good throwback comedy chemistry. It's fun," he said.
Will we see more of their "comedy chemistry" in "Jane The Virgin" season 2? Dier isn't just looking forward to his own personal scenes with Grobglass. He also wants to see other characters interact with each other (at least those who haven't met onscreen yet).
For example, he would definitely want to know how Rogelio and Petra will play out a scene.
It's a good thing then that writers of the show already know what to do with the upcoming season - and hopefully all the other seasons after that.
"We know how the whole story ends, but there's a lot of twists and turns in different directions getting there," headwriter Jennie Snyder Urman told Deadline.
With a shocking kidnapping twist and an unexpected wedding punctuating the finale, it looks like "Jane The Virgin" season 2 will be even crazier than the first.
