Will Black Tusk Studios finally annouce the release date of "Gears of War 4" at the E3 2015 convention?
According to VC Post the fourth installment to the military science third-person shooting game will most likely be unveiled during the event happening on June 16-18.
While the gaming studio has yet to release an official statement, Xbox boss Phil Spencer assured fans that there is nothing to worry about even if Hanno Lemke's has left the company. With new GM Rod Ferguson, "Gears of War 4" is reportedly having "massive progress."
"The thing that was great about the early Gears of War games, to me, [was] just the epic scale of the settings that I was in," Spencer told Game Spot . "The story, the setting was a lot more what I would call soulful and maybe even a little dark. And [Rod Fergusson] and I have talked about this; I think the game over time became almost more of a parody of itself; not for any kind of horrible reasons. It's hard to continue to manage the IP."
Futhermore, Spencer clarified rumors contributing to "Gears of War 4" becoming a reboot.
"I wouldn't call it a reboot, because I don't think the franchise necessarily needs that," he explained.
Adding, "I think we can make sure that we're investing in this thing for the next decade, which is how I want to think about it. The thing that was great about the early Gears of War games, to me, [was] just the epic scale of the settings that I was in. I think the story and the setting and what they're going through in a Gears of War-the name of the game, it really meant something to what that game was about. We've got to get back to that. The feeling of those individuals."
While "Gears of War 4" will be available on new generation consoles like PS4 and Xbox One, Black Tusk Studios developer Jack Felling said that it will not be available for Xbox 360 consoles.
"No, sorry, it won't be available on the 360, but it will be available for the Xbox One," he answered a fan on Twitter.
