The first season of "The Flash" is coming to an end. After spending most of the season in the dark regarding the real identity of Reverse Flash (Tom Cavanagh) who killed his mom, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) will finally get the chance for revenge.
According to recent "The Flash" episode guide released for this week's epi called "Rogue Air", things will get more dangerous for Central City as the metahumans STAR Labs crew captured escaped. Barry would not run out of reinforcement though as Arrow (Stephen Amell) and Firestorm (Robbie Amell) will arrive to his aid.
Arrow and Firestorm will be there to help the Scarlet Speedster. However, they are not exactly the people The Flash needs to become stronger. For Candice Patton her character Iris West and Barry's love interest will play a big role in Flash's growth into a superhero.
In the latest "The Flash" episode, Iris finally discovered who is behind that red streak that runs back and forth in Starling City. Although she felt betrayed at the first, she learned to accept that Barry just wants to keep her safe. Iris being aware of the Flash's real identity is a given. In the comics, Barry married Iris.
In the CW TV series, Candice Patton thinks Iris West is one of the reasons why his childhood friend will become a hero he is supposed to be. According to "The Flash" episode guide she provided to E! Online, her character will grow more important to Barry more than ever.
"You see Iris' importance in Barry's life in these last couple of episodes," Patton said.
"You see how much she means to him and how much he is buoyed by her to The Flash to be a superhero and how much he leans on her for advice and how much he cares for her. There are some really great scenes coming up before the end of the season where you really get a sense of how important they are to each other's life, and that Barry runs his most important conflicts and hurdles by Iris because he trusts her and he needs her to be the superhero that he is."
