When Zayn Malik decided to leave his group, the official statement assured fans that there was no One Direction feud of any kind.
Simon Cowell, himself, told the Sugarscape that the alleged spat wasn't real and still holds hope that the band will be complete again one day.
"You can't work together for this long if you're not friends. You have little spats, everyone does." the mega-producer and famed celebrity judge said.
However, it looks like the supposed non-existent One Direction feud is slowly coming to the surface through social media.
It's no secret that Malik has been hanging out with music producer Naughty Boy reportedly to work on his solo career. However, his former bandmate, Louis Tomlinson, doesn't seem to approve of his choice of company.
Bad blood had already been brewing between Tomlinson and Naughty Boy but it all came to a head when the producer publicly dissed the former on Twitter.
"@Louis_Tomlinson and some people can't even sing.. but who's complaining when there's auto tune eh," Zayn Malik's producer friend posted, to which the "You And I" crooner promptly sent a snappy reply.
"Jesus forgot you were such an in demand producer .... How does it feel to be riding on the back of someone else's career?" the 23-year-old British singer spat right back.
Surprisingly, it was Tomlinson's former bandmate and supposed "brother" who replied to him.
"Remember when you had a life and stopped making bitchy comments about mine?" Malik replied, making fans worry about the state of their friendship. Is the mega-boy group's brotherhood really falling apart?
Several rumors have already been feeding fans' worry about the seemingly intensifying One Direction feud. Hollywood Life previously reported that the boys' invitation to Malik's upcoming wedding with Little Mix' Perrie Edwards has been rescinded.
A supposed friend reportedly shared to Life & Style that Edwards thinks the boys - who Malik has been with for the past five years - a bad influence on her fiancé.
"She feels humiliated by what happened and she is just looking for someone to blame," the source added.
