Following Konami's announcement that "Silent Hills" will no longer push through, fans immediately opened a petition for Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro to reconsider their decision.
Below is the letter written by the petitioner who already gained more than 127,000 signatures from Change.org.
"Dear Hideo and Guillermo,
hearing the cancellation of one of the most anticipated horror games is about the most heartbreaking thing horror fans had to swallow this year.
Since the first sight of the P.T Demo it was instant love, and it burned into the minds of everyone that this had to release at some point.
Although the reasons are not yet announced I am begging you along with countless others: Please continue the Development on Silent Hills, if the issue is money related, we would love to see a Crowdfunding campaign like Kickstarter to ensure you are getting all the financial help there is! We´d love to see it happen at some point and want to thank you for all the great games you have released so far!
Greetings
-Yauheni "
In addition, "Walking Dead" cast Norman Reedus, who's supposed to star in the horror game also expressed his desire for the studio to pursue with "Silent Hills."
"Super bummed about this was really looking forward to it," "The Walking Dead" star posted on Twitter.
But, while he is disappointed he's also hopeful that "Silent Hills" would get to arrive in PS4 consoles in the future.
"Hopefully it'll come back around. Sorry everyone," he added.
Game Spot added that even Goat Simulator is trying to convice the creators to just release the highly anticipated game.
"We heard that Hideo Kojima was removed from the credits for Metal Gear Solid V so we added him to the credits for Goat Simulator," game developer Coffee Stain studios said on a post.
"If the issue is money related, we would love to see a crowdfunding campaign like Kickstarter to ensure you are getting all the financial help there is," the petition from fans said.
