Cyclops Kitten Dies After Being Born With One Eye, No Eyelid Or Nose [VIDEO]

| By

A cyclops kitten dubbed "Cleyed the Cyclops" was born with several deformities which included having only one large eye and no nose to breath from, leading the little kitten to unfortunately die. (Watch the video below)

The one-eyed Bengal kitten was rare and it's owners shared the video of the Cyclops kitten on YouTube along with a description of the events leading up to the kitten's birth. The mother cat had a difficult delivery and would have died without medical intervention, the owner shares.

Her owner brought her to a vet who helped the cat deliver three kittens. The two remaining kittens and the mother cat are doing fine.

"All of us in the operating room experienced a VERY RARE once in a lifetime (hopefully) kitten births," the YouTube description says. "To start off, both horns of the uterus were twisted together THREE times. After untwisting the horns our veterinarian started the surgery and she removed the first baby, the baby was handed to me and I started drying her off."

When the vet tech handed the cyclops kitten to the cat's owner, she was "floored." She wrote, "He floored me, I was in shock as I have only seen a picture of a Cyclops kitten like this ONCE ever... and that was on the internet. He was born alive and survived only a short time.

"This was a horribly sad experience, but very intriguing to us all. A short bit after Cleyed was delivered, the third baby was removed and she was a beautiful healthy baby."

The cyclops kitten also did not have an eyelid. If it had survived, it would have been blind and unable to eat on its own.
