After that not-so-great fight of the century, most people are now looking forward to a Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight rematch.
The two fighters' performance did not live up to the expectations of the public. Because of that, some are asking if the two can get on the boxing ring for another time. Just days after their mega bout, both Floyd and Pacman expressed interest on a rematch. Until yesterday.
There might have no Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight rematch as the American fighter had a change of plan. He wants to see him and Pacman on the same fight night but with different opponents. He wants the Filipino fighter to fight as undercard in his next bout.
"I look forward to, actually, since September's my last fight, I look forward to Pacquiao fighting on the undercard," Floyd Mayweather Jr said according to a report by GMA News based on a video from FightHype.com.
"We could fight on pay-per-view on a doubleheader. I think we both can make some good money. He can fight somebody solid, I can fight somebody solid. Together, we do have some good numbers."
Top Rank CEO Bob Arum previously told in an interview with Mirror there is a possibility of a Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight rematch with the way things are going.
"I think we now know what the pitfalls were. And, ultimately, with all the aggravation and trouble, look at the pot of gold that we both produced. I think there will probably be less aggravation in a rematch. We understand each other better now. There's a real possibility it could work even better."
The profit could be the biggest motivation for the Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight rematch to happen. The two earned $300 million in their 12-round battle. Not included in that amount are the sponsorships, tickets sales, and pay-per-view. If the two will fight different opponents, there might earn a little less.
