A man in Florida desperately wanted to get his hands on some McDonald's burgers even though he didn't have money so he decided to go through the drive-thru and demand it by saying that he's a cop that just came back from a sting operation.
According to the Sun Sentinel, deputies say that after Joseph E. Pineda had placed his order through the drive thru speaker at a St. Petersburg McDonald's on Friday afternoon, Pineda said that he had forgotten his wallet but he was a cop and wanted his food for free.
Pineda, 33, was then referred to the manager by the employee who took his order. He told him the same story and showed his badge and a gun in an attempt to prove that he was a cop.
After pulling around to the window, the 33-year-old Pinellas Park man told the manager the same story, but this time Pineada added he had just come from a sting before flashing a badge and showing a gun to the manager, the release stated.
McDonald's employees immediately suspected something to be out of the ordinary and called the cops on this "fake cop" which dispatched officers to the scene while Pineda patiently waited for his food in the drive-thru lane.
Deputies asked Pineda to exit the vehicle several times but he reportedly refused to obey officers, who eventually pulled their guns and forced the suspected hamburglar to exit his vehicle.
Inside Pineda's car deputies located two badges and a 455-caliber gun in the center console. Pineda reportedly also had a holster on his person.
The Hamburglar was arrested and charged with felony impersonating a police officer and a misdemeanor charge of improper exhibition of a firearm. He was released from the Pinellas County jail on Sunday, on a $10,500 surety bond.
