Michael Bay's highly successful live-action movie adaptation of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" in 2014 is confirmed to have a sequel, which is scheduled to be released on June 3, 2016.
And while not much is said about the follow up film to the hero-reptile-themed movie, Variety exclusively reported a new actor will portray the main villain, Shredder.
Tohoru Masamune will be replaced by "Wolverine" star Brian Tee as the new Shredder. But as to why Masamune had to leave the sequel remains to be kept in secret.
And while Michael Bay has found his new Shredder, there's an ongoing rumbling claiming that Megan Fox will no longer be returning to the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" sequel.
Apparently, the 28-year-old actress has no knowledge of the planned sequel yet, as she told Screen Rant.
"Right now there is no real plan for a second one, I think we'll know very soon though and I'll definitely do it if they will have me. This turned out really well, way better than I could have ever hoped."
Does this mean that the follow up movie will no longer include April O'Neil in it? That remains to be seen.
While rumors of Fox leaving the franchise have been rampant, Victoria's Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio is reportedly going to be included in the lineup for the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" sequel, The Hollywood Reported reported.
"Ambrosia and 'TMNT' star Will Arnett were photographed kissing at a New York Knicks game on March 25. But the lip-lock didn't signal a new couple. Instead, the pair were filming a scene for the sequel. Ambrosia will play herself and the love interest of Arnett's character in the film," the entertainment site reported.
In addition to the casting news, an official titled to the sequel has been revealed by L.A. Clippers guard JJ Redick, who's apparently going to do a cameo for the film.
In an interview with "The Lowe Post" podcast, Reddick accidentaly shared the information upon discussing his projects, Den of Geek reported.
"Myself, Austin Rivers, Matt Barnes, Spencer Hawes, and DeAndre Jordan," Redick teased of his appearance in in the movie. "Later this afternoon, the five of us, along with five Knicks players are going to be back at MSG and we're going to be filming a scene for the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' sequel, 'Half Shell.'"
Jonathan Liebsman will no longer return to direct the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" sequel, instead Dave Green has been tapped to helm the film.
