For many, the Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight was underwhelming.
The "Fight of the Century" did not live up to its hype according to several analysts and legends of the sport. Some are disappointed with how the fight turned out while others are asking for more. However, ever since the two signed the contract, Floyd made it known there will be no more rematch.
Of course, nothing is really sure in this sport. In fact, Floyd has already changed his mind about the no rematch clause he set. According to Sports Center, the still undefeated American boxer texted Stephen A. Smith he has interest in having a rematch with Manny Pacquiao who he beat last Saturday via a unanimous decision. However, Floyd has one condition. Pacman should be 100% healthy.
Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight rematch could happen but the latter has to be in his best form. Shortly after the result of the fight, Pacman's trainer Freddie Roach told reporters his boxer had a shoulder injury before the fight night but failed to reveal it to the Nevada Athletic Commission. He is now expected to sit out one whole year to heal it.
"We felt the [rehabilitative] work that was done on the shoulder duing training would give him the opportunity to use the right hand," promoter Bob Arum said according to a report by Yahoo Sports' Kevin Iole. "We were disappointed when in the third round the injury kicked up again, but this is always the case in sport. ... He heals the injury, thinks he's conquered it and it flares up again."
Is Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight rematch really necessary?
