After getting married on April 26 in California, Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed flew to Mexico for their honeymoon.
Fans of the 36-year-old heartthrob and 26-year-old brunette beauty were eager to find out more details about their romantic getaway. According to latest reports, the newlyweds spent most of their time in the bedroom rather than touring the place.
"Ian and Nikki had a great honeymoon in Mexico, but they didn't see much of the sites," a source told Hollywood Life. "Instead, they locked themselves away in their bedroom for hours on end for hot and steamy sex sessions." The "Twilight Saga" star shared a photo of herself getting a tight hug and kiss from her husband at the beach. "Salty...sandy...sticky...sunburned. The best. I love this human. My human," she wrote on Instagram.
According to the website, Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed can't keep their hands off each other. "The few times they did appear in and around the resort they certainly appeared flustered," their insider revealed. "But then they were soon back in the bedroom for another few hours, resurfaced for an hour or two, then straight back for more lovemaking."
This is contradictory to the photos that Pop Sugar shared. The lovebirds seem to have time to go out and have fun in Mexico. They were spotted packing the PDA at the beach and enjoying a bike ride and strolling with their friends. The couple continued their honeymoon in Brazil and they even shared photos on social media.
Nikki Reed posted a photo of the crowded beach on Instagram and captioned it: "bom dia Brasil! eu te amo." Ian Somerhalder, on the other hand, shared a photo of himself with a backdrop of Brazil's flag and thanked his fans on Instagram.
According to Hollywood Life, the couple had been friends for years before they started dating last year. The Los Angeles-born actress got married to "American Idol" alum Paul McDonald in October 2011, but called it quits in March 2014. "The Vampire Diaries" actor got engaged to the actress after her divorce got finalized last January.
