Barcelona Vs Bayern Munich In Champions League Semifinals: Luis Enrique Remains Worried Despite 8-0 Win Over Cordoba

| By

The Barcelona-Bayern Munich semis battle in the UEFA Champions League is a rematch of the 2012-2013 semis wherein the Spanish club was embarrassed by their Germain counterpart in two legs, 7-0.

Two years past, Barca will try to put that nightmare into rest and with the way they are playing lately, looks like they can get the job done. Barcelona had a good conditioning game ahead of their match against Bayern Munich on May 7 with 8-0 trashing of Cordoba this weekend.

Despite that dominance performance, Luis Enrique is still not taking the Barcelona-Bayern Munich match up lightly. For the Barca manager, this will still be a difficult tie for them.

"To arrive in the semi-finals of Champions League with the season we are having reinforces our strength a lot, but we have to back this up in a really difficult knockout tie," he said.

Barcelona defender Javier Mascharano feels the same and for him, everyone should do the littlest thing to complete the job versus Bayern Munich.

"You have to recognize that the coach has done a great job physically and mentally preparing the whole team because we have all our players available and highly motivated for the home stretch.

"The little things will be key against Bayern. It will be a very evenly matched tie; both teams have similar approaches. It will be great for the fans to watch. What we must do is keep believing that we can win."

Barcelona Vs Bayern Munich Champions League match will feature the world's best players, plus most of the players from World Cup champs Germany.

However, not all those world class players will be on the field as Bayern will come into the first leg without key cogs like Arjen Robben and Robert Lewandowski.

Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer confirmed that aside from Robben, who is out for the season, Lewandowski will not play in the first leg.

"The doctors, the player and the mask will make this decision," Sammer told reporters.

"But one thing is clear: No player in the world can be so important to jeopardise his health.

"Even if the doctors give their green light, that does not necessarily mean he will play."

Barcelona Vs Bayern Munich In Champions League Semifinals is on May 7 while the second will be played at Allianz Arena on May 13.
