"God of War 4," release date is yet to be announced and most likely its not going to happen anytime soon as Sony is focused on bringing a "GOW 3" remastered version for the new generation console, PS4.
According to Cross Map fans would most probably get to see the fourth installment to third-person action-adventure video game in between 2017 and 2018.
In an a talk with PlayStation Blog, head writer Cory Barlog explained that before anything else the focus of the company is to bring "God of War 3" to PS4 and that will happen on July 14.
Furthermore, the remastered version of "GOW 3" will reportedly work as a testing ground for "God of War 4" before it finally gets an official release date.
"Imagine if a game like that [God of War 3] came out on PS4, right," Barlog explained. "Well, thanks to the fine folks at SCEA (or Santa Monica Studio) we do not have to imagine anymore because God of War III Remastered is here!"
In conclusion Barlog said that the coming of "God of War 3" remastered version to PS4 would open doors to those who have yet to exprerience the game, which can eventually lead to bring in more gamers to enjoy the game and its future sequels.
"Remasters often help us open the door to new players who perhaps did not play 'God of War 3' five years ago, but who we can bring it to on the PlayStation 4," he said in the post. "People often forget, the more players we can bring into a franchise, the better for everyone. At Santa Monica Studio, we'd like as many PlayStation fans to experience our games as possible, from generation to generation."
However, while there has yet any official statement about "God of War 4" release date, Movie Pilot has reported that the fourth installment could introduce a new mythological creature that would most likely keep Kratos out of the game.
Whether that would happen of not remains to be seen when it gets to be released, hopefully sometime soon.
