DC Comics' 'Wonder Woman' Standalone Film Finally Moving Forward! New Director To Replace Michelle MacLaren Found

| By

Following the exit of "Breaking Bad" director Michelle MacLaren from helming DC Comics' "Wonder Woman" standalone film, a new helmer has reportedly been found.

According NY Daily News Patty Jenkins, who directed the award winning crime drama film based on the true story of the infamous prostitute serial killer named Aileen Wuornos played Charlize Theron, titled "Monster," will now direct "Wonder Woman" starred by Gal Gadot.

While the Israeli fashion model-turned-actress chose to keep mum about the issue, Warner Bros. studios has release an official statement about the recent issue involving MacLaren's departure, according to Hollywood Reporter.

"Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together," the publication mentioned of the two parties' decision to part ways.

And while the studio did not discuss any specific details about the kind of "creative differences" that caused MacLaren to leave, Variety reported that the root of the issue was due to MacLaren's idea about the planned "Wonder Woman" standalone film that the studio did not like.

"MacLaren envisioned the DC Comics-based "Wonder Woman" movie as an epic origin tale in the vein of "Braveheart," whereas Warner wanted a more character-driven story that was less heavy on action," the publication claimed referring to what their sources supposedly told them.

In addition, the publication said the Warner Bros. is not confident enough with MacLaren's experience in directing as they've decided to let her go and opt for a more experienced female director.

"They didn't like MacLaren's test," an insider of Variety who is reportedly close to the situation said.

Jenkins is said to be a much experienced director given that she was able to make a big name out of a supposed low-budget indie film "Monster."

Furthermore, Warner Bros. is reportedly determined keep right on track with the scheduled release date that's why they decided to hire Jenkins quickly.
