Following reports that "Hart of Dixie" is in jeopardy, Jamie King revealed that it has nothing to do with the show's rating, instead it's more of Rachel Bilson's desire to focus on her daughter.
In an interview with E! News, the 36-year-old actress explained the show's current situation as she acknowledged fans' devotion to the story of Zoe Hart.
"It's a tricky situation because it really isn't about ratings for us," she admitted. "It's not like a ratings issue it was more of a timing issue. Rachel Bilson got pregnant and wanted to take maternity leave. Every woman has a right to do that. I think that everything has an imp at on the way things are decided upon. It's very interesting because our fans are so devoted."
While King has yet to reveal if the show really got cancelled or not, she shared that he misses shooting terribly.
"It's really interesting, because when my son wakes up in the middle of the night, immediately I'm like, 'Oh! It's time for me to get to set!' It makes me want to cry because I love this show so much. It's still a success. It's really whatever the universe has in store. Either way, it's been such a gift."
Meanwhile, there have been reports that Rachel Bilson is trying to avoid news about "Hart of Dixie" that she opted to stay out of Los Angeles with her long time boyfriend Hayden Christensen and daughter Briar Rose, E! Online reported.
According to Kpopstarz, Rachel Bilson left the city because she wants to stay away from the news about her show "Hart of Dixie."
And while Jamie King insisted that the show's future has nothing to do with ratings, CW president Mark Pedowitz previously released an official statement at Television Critics Association winter press tour claiming that they are looking into the show's rating before giving out an official announcement.
"We're going to see the ratings," he announced. "I think Leila did a great job in the 10 episodes this year of making something fun for the fans. So if it ends, there's a great finale. If it doesn't end, there's a great season finale, but we're not committed one way or the other yet."
Furthermore, Rachel Bilson's co-star Scott Porter told Us Weekly that while the show is still hanging in the balance, the cast members have yet to hear anything from the showrunners.
"At this point, our sets are gone," he revealed in his interview. "No one has called us."
Adding, "We're still waiting, we'll probably be waiting until May," he explained. "But I wish that they would just go ahead and let us know."
