With the Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight less than a week away, one could presume that both camps are more than ready to take on each other.
That each fighter has already covered everything they need to know about their opponents. The case is different though for the undefeated American fighter.
In an interview with ESPN's Jeremy Schaap, the 47-0 boxing champion said he did not see much films of Pacquiao's previous fights. Watching one's previous performances is one of the basic steps in preparing for a boxing match.
A player must study the opponent's moves, favorite punch, and everything. However, for Mayweather Jr, that is not really an issue. This comments of the American fighter was reported by the Big Deal website. It wrote:
"Schaap asked about Mayweather's preparation for the fight: "You've studied a lot of film. You know a lot about him," to which Mayweather explained, "Um, I didn't study a lot of film. I don't know a lot about him.""
This must be another tactic of Floyd Mayweather Jr. He would not be parading a clean slate if he does not know how to prepare for a battle, especially now that it is his biggest rival that he will face next.
While the Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight is expected to become a slobberknocker, fans might be upset about this next news. Pretty Boy's father has previously called on his son to retire after the bout against Manny Pacquiao. Now, it seems that it will be the next step for the younger Floyd.
"We'll just have to see how everything plays out on Saturday. My father is entitled to his own opinion," Floyd Mayweather Jr. said.
"My father is right, September, I think will be my last fight.
"My father was right. You now it is about the time for me to walk away."
Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight is on May 2 at the MGM Grand Arena.
