'Gotham' Episode Guide: Ben McKenzie Says Show Has Corrected Itself Leading To The Finale

| By

Fox TV series "Gotham" will air its penultimate episode next week. Last week, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) solved the case regarding the Ogre who threatened the ones he love.

However, his job is not yet done. The case about the serial killer, played by Milo Ventimiglia, was just a red herring. According to a "Gotham" episode guide, a war between the city's most notorious mob is looming.

"Gotham," which has already been renewed for a second season, was advertised as a procedural drama and will deviate from the usual format of comics superhero shows. However, that plot somehow changed mid-season as they introduce the origin story of some DC characters.

For Ben McKenzie who plays the show's lead character Jim Gordon, he thinks they were able to recover from that. "Gotham" was able to correct itself. All the previous episodes lead to an exciting finale.

"I am excited about the direction the show has taken," McKenzie said in an interview with Channel Guide. "I think we made a very strong pilot and we tried to make the show more procedural than it wanted to be, and we corrected that. From here on in, the show will take on a more serialized, character-driven exploration of the origins of all these mythological creatures."

The finale will air on May 4 and will be called "All Happy Families are Alike." Read the full "Gotham" episode guide below.

"As Gotham City's gang war reaches its boiling point, Fish Mooney goes head-to-head with Maroni and Penguin in an attempt to re-stake her claim on the city. Meanwhile, Barbara and Leslie Thompkins are brought together after recent events, and Bruce searches Wayne Manor for any hints that his father might have left behind in the all new "All Happy Families Are Alike" Season Finale episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, May 4 (8:00-9:00 ET/PT) on FOX.
