Benedict Cumberbatch Will Be All Beefed Up When Marvel's 'Doctor Strange' Movie Starts Shooting In November! Kevin Feige Confident With The 'Sherlock' Star

Following announcement of its release date, Marvel is finally gearing up for "Doctor Strange" movie, which will reportedly start production sometime in November.

Benedict Cumberbatch, who will play the lead role in the dark superhero film adaptation is reportedly getting all beefed up as preparation to the movie.

Apparently, he's working out hard to gain broader chest and ripped muscle just like other Marvel superhero stars, Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America) and Chris Pratt (Star Lord).

According to The Sun, the 38-year-old "Sherlock" star is "wolfing double the daily amount of calories and spending hours with a personal trainer."

Adding, "Dr Strange was always muscly in the cartoons so Benedict has to look the part when they start filming in the autumn.

"Skinny Sherlock Holmes will be the last thing anyone thinks about."

In addition to gulping protein shakes and consuming double amount of calories he is reportedly working with a personal trainer in preparation for Marvel's "Doctor Strange" movie.

Apparently, the Oscar-nominated actor is no stranger to training, since he had to work out for "Star Trek: Into Darkness" as well.

"I did a lot of training and I did a lot of eating," he said of his training as Daily Mail reported. "By the end I could do handstand press-ups, feet up against the wall, lowering my head to the floor and pushing up.

"It didn't last long, but I could definitely do that for a week or two."

Furthermore, "Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch has already expressed his excitement in filming.

"Excited, really excited, you know," the 38-year-old English star said about "Doctor Strange" at the British Independent Film Awards as reported by Mirror.

"There's a lot of work to be done and I'm just at the beginning of it all so I'm not going to talk too much about it's a thrilling gig to get and I can't wait. Very excited."

Marvel's president, Kevin Feige, on the other hand is confident that Cumberbatch is the perfect actor to portray the role of Stephen Strange.

"Stephen Strange's story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity," Feige said. "In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character."

Meanwhile, the team headed by director Scott Derrickson is reportedly getting ready for a November location in New York, according to Comic Book.

"I've been talking about it for a long, long, long, long time, as we talked about Guardians (of the Galaxy) for a long, long time before it happened, and we talked about The Avengers for a long, long time before it happened, Kevin Feige told MTV.

"(Director) Scott Derrickson and the producing team are on a scout right now, finishing a scout in New York City for certain buildings that Doctor Strange inhabits. They're on their way to London, where we'll be doing principal photography, starting in November. It's great. Benedict (Cumberbatch) has been on a bit of a whirlwind tour up until now, but we're so excited. We are as excited to have him as he is to be a part of this universe. It's always a nice combination."

"Doctor Strange" is scheduled for release on Nov. 4, 2016.
