"Hotel Transylvania 2" which is scheduled for release on September 25 has recently released a new trailer.
The 2012 animation holds the record for having the highest-grossing opening weekend in September having earned $358 million on a budget of only $85 million. It was also nominated for Best Animated Feature Film at the Golden Globe Awards.
After three years, viewers will again see the hilarious co-existence of humans and monsters in "Hotel Transylvania 2." The sequel will be directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, who also worked on the first film. He is also famous for creating "Dexter's Laboratory," "Samurai Jack," and "Sym-Bionic Titan.
According to Latino Review, the second installment will feature the original voice cast. Adam Sandler as Count Dracula, Selena Gomez as Mavis, Andy Samberg as Jonathan, Steve Buscemi as werewolf Wayne, David Spade as Griffin the Invisible Man, Kevin James as Frankenstein, Mel Brooks as Vlad, and more.
During an exclusive interview with Moviefone, Genndy Tartakovsky was asked if the child featured in the new teaser trailer was Mavis and Johnny's child.
"Dracula is a grandfather and his name is Dennis, and Dennis isn't showing any signs of becoming a monster, so Drac takes it upon himself to get the fangs out of him, as we say in the movie," he said.
The 45-year-old animator was also asked what fans can expect in the new movie.
"I think one of the things is seeing all of the monsters, who we haven't seen be monsters, so they're supposed to inspire Dennis to become a monster," he said.
The Russian director also revealed the new characters in the sequel.
"We have Johnny's parents come out, who we play much more subtle, so they're great contrast to our monsters," he said. The website asked Genndy Tartakovsky if he has already announced the voice of these characters. "Not yet. But I think everybody will be very happy," he teased.
