“Constantine” is still fighting for its life. The NBC TV series is yet to hear from the bosses whether a second season is up or it is officially cancelled.
Despite that, showrunner Daniel Cerone has already revealed his plans once “Constantine” TV series season 2 gets a green light. The writer and producer did a Q&A with fans and wherein one asked if they will get to see what happened to John in his younger years.
As it turned out, that very question is part of what Cerone and co-showrunner David Goyer is pitching to NBC to get a sophomore run of the Hellblazer-inspired show.
When asked who would he want to see in “Constantine” TV series season 2, Cerone straightly answered William Shatner who of course is famous for his roles in sci-fi television series “Star Trek” and “Star Trek” feature films.
Daniel Cerone and other writers will make a pitch for “Constantine” TV series season 2 by the end of this month. However, they are aware that getting it done might be a long shot.
“I just received confirmation from the corporate offices at NBC. I was assured that Constantine has not been canceled and our pitch meeting to discuss a potential second season remains on the books,” Cerone told Comicbook.com earlier this month when news spread that “Constantine” TV series is no more.
“By the way, this is a pitch meeting involving the president of Warner Bros and and the entertainment heads of NBC. Nobody at this incredibly busy time of the development season has time to waste taking pointless meetings.”
