Red Hot Chili Peppers New Album Release Date Happening This Year? Flea And Chad Smith Giving Out Hints

| By

Following the recent release of a live album "Cardiff, Wales: 6/23/2004," fans are expecting Red Hot Chili Peppers to finally launch a new record since "I'm With You," which was released in 2011.

While there hasn't been any concrete information as to when will be the release date of the American rock band's new album, Flea intentionally or unintentionally posted a tweet revealing that the band is about to start recording.

The tweet was however deleted, but Alternative Nation was able to grap the post.

Furthermore, the band's bassist previously revealed that they are collaborating with an "unnamed producer" (Danger Mouse) who said to have been "challenging them with this new album."

Red Hot Chili Pepper's drummer, Chad Smith also confirmed news that a new album is indeed on its way, but like Flea he did not mention anything about its release date.

He did however say that the band is aiming for a 2015 release during an interview with Rolling Stone in December last year.

"We've already recorded some of the songs, just a few that we've been working on. But this is also going to be in addition to those. It's a new process. I don't know how long it's going to take. We'll have a record out next year," the 53-year-old drummer and doppleganger to comedian Will Ferrell said.

"The new album is shaping up good, man," Smith added.

"We've got lots of songs, and we're working with an unnamed producer who is really challenging us to find new ways to come up with new music. We've done the 'guys get in the room and jam out songs, everybody playing together all at once' thing. And we wrote a bunch of songs that way. And we're now going to try another method that will be really challenging for us and will bring new, exciting results for the band. We've written and recorded in a way that we've never done before, so the record is going great. We all have high hopes that it's going to take off and we're going to do something very different and unique for the Red Hot Chili Peppers."

Furtermore, Flea told Rolling Stone that the new songs are almost done and that they rehearsing the trackst before finally going into record.

"We've been writing and rehearsing, rolling up our sleeves, getting in the studio and doing it," Flea claimed. "We're nearly finished writing. We'll go in the studio sometime in the next couple of months."
