Demi Lovato revealed during a recent interview how Wilmer Valderrama almost split up with her. The 22-year-old singer faced a lot of struggles in her life including her fight against her eating disorders and drug addiction, which affected her relationship with her 35-year-old boyfriend.
The "Really Don't Care" hitmaker went back to rehab in 2011 and it was partly because of the actor that pushed her into fixing herself up. "There were some moments when it was off and on when I was struggling with my issues," Lovato admitted at Kyle and Jackie O Show (via ET Online).
"What he would do is he wouldn't enable me so he'd say, 'I can't be around if you're not going to get your stuff together,'" she added. Wilmer Valderrama's threat on breaking up with Demi Lovato motivated her more into getting her act together.
"It made me fight for it," the former child star gushed. "He's a very, very good guy." In a separate interview with Fitness Magazine, Demi admitted that she almost had a relapse if not for her boyfriend. "It's been difficult. I almost went back to rehab for my eating disorder last summer. I was obsessing over food and terrified of it at the same time," she shared. "Wilmer noticed and called me out on it, which was a relief."
The star of "That '70s Show" is really proud of his girlfriend's accomplishment. "Today, we lay another stone together. It is now 3 years since you said: I am more important than any past, demon, disorder or addiction. Where you decided that YOUR life was worth living while loving yourself. And I'm sure glad you did. I knew then the woman you've become now. I am proud and honored to be front row to see the world you are about to change. I love you Demi," the actor wrote on Instagram.
Demi Lovato also expressed how much she loves her boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama on social media. She posted a sweet photo of them together on Instagram and wrote: #FBF to 4 1/2 years ago and yet all this time later... I still cry when I leave him for tour and I still get butterflies just thinking about him. You're magical Wilmer... I love and miss you..."
