The male clones are closing in on their female counterparts, their targets. In the latest "Orphan Black" season 3 episode called "Transitory
Sacrifices of Crisis" one of the dangerous Castor projects was able to infiltrate Sarah Manning's house. The worse part of it was that he got a hold of Kira as a hostage unless Sarah give him something that he needs.
Things did not end up horrible for Sarah and her family as Rudy (Ari Millen) decided to leave after seeing his brother getting attacked by his disease. However, Sarah is not sitting on her laurel. She believes threats will become bigger from there on and so, she decided to send Kira away with her father Cal (Michael Huisman). That decision definitely broke the heart of the strong-willed female clone but she has no choice.
"It takes a lot for her to make that decision," Maslany told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview shortly after the latest "Orphan Black" season 3 episode. "Ultimately, the biggest gift she can give Kira is to make sure she's safe. That can't happen when Sarah's around her, because it makes her a [target] - she threatens her life just by being near her. It's a really painful decision to make, but it's ultimately one of the most selfless things that she's done."
While this decision is certainly her own, what Sarah did not know is that her former lover Paul (Dylan Bruce) reached out to Cal and instructed the latter to keep the family safe. That is a surprising move for Paul who according to Tatiana herself will have bigger arc this season compared to the previous ones.
"[Paul's] arc this season is really surprising," Maslany said. "[Bruce] does some really beautiful amazing work, and it was great to see his character expanded and explored. We get a little more into why he's doing what he's doing, and what he's even doing in the first place. We get to know Paul a little bit better. And I think fans are going to enjoy that."
The next "Orphan Black" season 3 episode is next week, May 2, and will be called "Formalized, Complex, and Costly"[5]
