Microsoft is reportedly in the works of the Lumia 840 which will replace the discontinued Lumia 830.
In a recent report from NokiaPowerUser an alleged successor of the Lumia 830 may come into light soon. But it is disappointing to note that the upcoming Lumia phone won't run on Windows 10, in contrast to previous rumors that all upcoming Lumia phones will run on Microsoft's latest OS.
According to its source the Lumia 840 will be an upgraded version of its predecessor that will pack a better front camera compared to Lumia 830's 0.9MP and will most likely feature a better processor.
In addition, it will have Windows Phone 8.1 GDR2 pre-installed as GSM Arena cited that the Windows 10 OS might be preserved for the Lumia 940.
"So, we have some info about one such mid-ranger in works, that may pack Dual-Sim support, 13-14 MP rear camera (PureView), 5 MP FFC, better processor and may sport similar or slightly modified design to Lumia 830. While it is not sure what the name may be, we may call it Lumia 840 for our convenience. This device may have a screen size around 5-inch," reported NokiaPowerUser.
NokiaPowerUser continued its report that three more Lumia series phones could flourish in the coming months and two of these could be the most awaited Lumia 940.
According to a source of Nokia Power User , the upcoming Lumia 940 may sport a 5.2inch screen display, while its larger sibling might pull off a 5.7inch.
''We hear that the rear camera sensor may swell to 24-25 MP from current 20 MP on Lumia 930. They will certainly feature a 5 MP or even higher MP FFC. We also hear some cool features like 3D-interaction, Iris scanner and native Pen support as part of the package,'' a source told Nokia Power User.
''We know that Windows 10 for Phones will bring support for Hexa-core and Octa-core processors. We don't have confirmed info about processor and display resolution as of now but Microsoft may go for bleeding-edge specs, we hear.''
While the other Lumia phone could be another mid-ranger like the Lumia 840 which will sport 5.5inch or up to 5.7-inch screen display, but may not feature a PureView camera.
