There is no more turning back for Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) to become the heir of Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable).
Now that he got to resurrect his sister Thea (Willa Holland) through the Lazarus Pit, he must pay his debt to the Head of the Demon. According to recent "Arrow" season 3 episode guide, the vigilante of Starling will be kept busy by his obligations to the league of assassins.
That means there is no one to fight the bad guys in his own city. The citizens should not be afraid though because there is someone who can momentarily replace him.
Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), who aspires to become another savior of the city, has offered a lot of help to Team Arrow. While the Emerald Archer is away, he will fill the shoes Ollie left.
"They're going to end up hanging out a great deal at Palmer Technologies," executive producer Marc Guggenheim told Comic Book Resources when asked what's next for John Diggle (David Ramsey), Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), and Laurel Lance (Katie Casssidy) in the next "Arrow" season 3 episodes.
"We had to expand Ray's workshop to allow for scenes with a large group of people. That basically is the lair for the remainder for the season. That said, you haven't seen the last of the lair yet. It makes one final appearance in 21."
Marc Guggenheim also shared an "Arrow" season 3 episode guide about what's next for the trio now that their leader is away.
"In the wake of episode 20, there's a real trinity formed between Laurel, Diggle and Felicity. They're all sort of leaning on each other. They're processing things in different ways. I think Laurel is throwing herself into her work saving the city, I think Felicity is struggling with heartbreak and grief. She really goes through the seven stages of grief with Oliver. Diggle -- something happens in 21 that really upends Diggle's world, certainly vis-a-vis Oliver. That's something that will have repercussions for the remainder of the season."
"Arrow" season 3 will return next week for the episode called "Al Sah-him."
