For four seasons, there was never an episode of "Revenge" that did not feature Madeleine Stowe's Victoria Grayson.
That might change in the remaining episodes or in the new season if ever the ABC show gets renewed. After the latest "Revenge" season 4 episode, there might have no more reason why viewers should expect the former queen of Hamptons to show up again.
"Revenge" season 4 episode guide for next week has been released and it partially confirms that Victoria Grayson died in that explosion scene.
It was shown as a suicide but with her long-standing feud with Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp), all fingers are pointing to the latter.
Victoria could be dead and she no longer has a story to tell. As per Madeleine Stowe, that burning house scene in the last "Revenge" season 4 episode could be the best way to end her character's story.
"I felt that her story was quite done. It's almost done, I should say that," Stowe said in an interview with the Entertainment Weekly.
"It's done in a way that we know Victoria. There will be some information that should come to the fore about what her deeper motivators were, that you may not like her, you might understand it."
When asked if Victoria won in her battle against Emily, Stowe said there is no winning at all. She also teased a "Revenge" season 4 episode guide for the finale regarding why her character chose to die.
"There is no winning in this game at all. There's no winning. She's completely willing to meet her maker. The only thing that has really kept her alive is this compulsion that she has to make sure her children are safe, and by the finale, you'll understand why she might've felt that way."
