Paul Rudd Thinks ‘Ant-Man’ Is Funny! Did Peyton Reed Copy The ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy?’ ‘It Is Going To Be Unlike Any Other Marvel Movie’

The upcoming Marvel movie "Ant-Man" has often been compared to "Guardians of the Galaxy" because there were reports that it is a funny film.

Even some of the cast members have admitted that Peyton Reed's new movie resembles James Gunn's blockbuster.

"It's much more like 'Guardians of the Galaxy', with the humor, "Michael Douglas told Collider. "It's just funny, against all of this grandiose stuff, that there's Ant-Man. It's getting a great response." The 70-year-old actor stars as Hank Pym alongside Paul Rudd who stars as Scott Lang.

Another actor that compared "Ant-Man" to the "Guardians of the Galaxy" is Bobby Cannavale who portrays the role of Paxton.

"I haven't seen anything but it felt funny," the 44-year old actor admitted to Nuke The Fridge. "It's Paul [Rudd], so I think they're not hiring [him] to be The Winter Soldier. It's going to have a sense of levity to it, like 'Guardians of the Galaxy'.

Michael and Bobby both revealed that "Ant-Man" will be funny; and the star of the film agreed with them.

"I think it's funny, but I don't think it's an out and out comedy," Paul Rudd told Comic Book. "It's got a lot of action. It's got heart and character and relationships that I hope people get emotionally invested in." It seems that they are following the style of "Guardians of the Galaxy", which was probably the biggest summer movie last year.

The pressure is definitely on for Peyton Reed (Yes Man), who was asked to take over the film after Edgar Wright (The World's End) parted ways with Marvel. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 50-year-old filmmaker was asked how he felt taking over Wright's work.

"I have to say, it's actually great because everybody from the cast and the crew are like A-plus-plus. And the stuff that we're doing in terms of the visuals of the movie is going to be unlike any other Marvel movie," Reed said. "I mean, it's different than the other superhero movies because it takes place in the real world but we experience it from a radically different perspective. In terms of the shrinking stuff, you're going to see stuff that just has never been done in a movie," he added.

Find out on July 17, 2015 if "Ant-Man" will have the same effect on the viewers as that of "Guardians of the Galaxy."
