Pregnant Zooey Deschanel Sacrifices Eating 'Soft Cheese & Sushi' For Baby - 'New Girl' Star Tired Of Being Called 'Adorkable'

Following her giving up being a vegetarian because of "veggie limitations," Zooey Deschanel is now sacrificing eating other delectable food because of her pregnancy.

"Actress Zooey Deschanel was forced to give up her vegan diet - because it was far too limiting. The 'Elf' star gave up meat some years ago but recently turned her back on her vegetarian and non-dairy regimen after discovering she couldn't eat soy or wheat products. She tells Bust magazine, 'I gave it a good try, but sometimes you just need a little something, a little meat.' She added to Health magazine, her food sensitivities made it difficult for her to star healthy as a vegetarian," AceShowbiz previously said of Deschanel's end to being a vegetarian.

And while her sister Emily reportedly still follows the vegetarian way of eating, Zooey in an interview with "Jimmy Kimmel Live" reportedly misses eating non-vegetarian food because of her pregnancy.

"You can't eat so many things when you're pregnant!" she exclaimed. "If I was vegan, I'd just be like...ohhh."

"You can't have sushi. You can't have cheese that tastes good," she added. "You can have a little bit [of coffee], but I would have, like, four cups a day. And now I can have a half cup, which is a joke! It's a total joke! You can't have alcohol. I miss that, I like wine."

And while she's adjusting with her pregnancy with fiance Jacob Pechenik, the "New Girl" star reportedly wants people to stop calling her "adorkable."

Apparently, the 25-year-old soon-to-be first time mom is tired of being tagged with the work "adorkable," which was a marketing plot by Fox for "New Girl."

"I don't always identify, perhaps, with the way that I'm portrayed in certain public contexts," she explained to Huffington Post. "I try to stay away from that sort of thing. That was something that was calculated, you know what I mean? ('Adorkable') was our marketing department at Fox and they did a really good job with our first season, but that's a word that describes the character that I play, not me. I don't personally have identification with that word myself."
