Following the succesful first season of "Attack on Titan," fans are now hoping to hear news about the season 2 release date.
While there hasn't been an official announcement as to when the post-apocalyptic anime would be released, different reports from different anime sites are emerging.
Otaku House reported that "Attack on Titan" season 2 would probably hit TV screens this July, but according to Crunchy Roll the followup season to the anime series would most likely be launched next year.
According to iDigitalTimes, Wit Studios aims to bring the manga to "get a little farther ahead" from the anime series. Adding that the first season already featured more than half of the manga's story, which hasn't even been published.
VC Post added claiming that director Tetsuro Araki has confirmed that "Attack on Titan" season 2 release date will happen next year.
While there will be no "Attack on Titan" season 2 this year, a movie compilation of "Attack on Titan Part 1: Crimson Bow and Arrow" has been made available in Japan already, together with a spin-off prequel titled, "No Regrets, Birth of Levi," which has been made available since December of last year. The follow-up to the spin-off was then released this month.
In addition to the movie compilation and spin-off series, a live-action movie is also reportedly going to be released this year.
And when released next year, VC Post claimed that "Attack on Titan" season 2 plot will follow the story of Hajme Isayama's manga character named Eren.
"Based on Hajime Isayama's manga, 'Attack on Titan' now on its highly anticipated season 2, tells the story of a boy named Eren who joins the Survey Corps in order to protect humanity against the unexplainable, giant, man-eating, Titans, the publication revealed. "Throughout the series Eren discovers shocking things about the titans that no man has ever witnessed, like humans being able to shift themselves into titans too."
