Fox TV series "The Last Man on Earth" is now on the tail end of its first season.
Starring Will Forte on the lead role, this show has surprised many because of its detailed comic scenes and inventiveness. The new comedy series is doing good in reviews and ratings, Fox decided it deserves a second season.
While this show is winning more fans each episode, one American country singer is not pleased with "The Last Man on Earth." On her Facebook page, the 44-year old musician ranted about the show's content and said that she finds it disgusting.
"So. I sat down last night with our teenage children to watch The Last Man on Earth. Thinking it could be a funny new show that we could start, right?" Evans wrote. "I was thoroughly disgusted at how disgusting it was/is."
Evans, known for hits like "No Place That Far" and "Born To Fly", is particularly irked by the sex-related jokes by Forte's character Phil Miller who was reduced to imagining sexual things after learning he no longer has company.
"In the first few scenes it shows him watching porn and saying a prayer to God and making a gross statement about doing something that should not be talked about on a major network," she wrote.
Evans later on criticized the writers of "The Last Man on Earth."
"It just shows me that the writers really aren't funny or intelligent. Because it takes more whit [sic] to write comedy without stupid and gross sexual references," Evans continued. "I'm not a prude who won't watch anything but G rated - but at the same time, when these shows are on major networks that are accessible to children, they should be much more regulated.... Thanks for letting me rant."
Aside from Forte, also in "The Last Man on Earth" cast are Kristen Schaal as Carol Pilbasian who used to be the last woman on earth, January Jones as Melissa Shart, Mel Rodriguez as Todd, Cleopatra Coleman as Erica, Mary Steenburgen as Gail, and Boris Kodjoe as Phil Miller (II), the third-last man on Earth.
The show will air its second to the last episode on April 26 and season finale on May 3.
