Following announcement that a "Kingdom Hearts 3" is in the works, fans started to ask when will the release date be.
And while there hasn't been any official statement coming from Square Enix, rumors suggest that an announcement could be happening at 2015 D23 Expo in Anaheim.
VC Post claimed that the August event could launch the game's trailer and release date announcement but other important details could be revealed as early as June at E3 2015.
Game devoper, Tetsuya Nomura previously said that they will be announcing new news and details about he upcoming game according to Design & Trend.
"We have some interesting things planned. There will be Kingdom Hearts 3 news, and various things, I think. Development on Kingdom Hearts 3 is going smoothly, but there will also be new announcements connected to it," he said as reported by Design & Trend.
"As one of those new announcements, I think we should be able to announce a smartphone-specific development for the series in short order."
On the other hand, Square Enix president, Yosuke Matsuda revealed in his last year's interview that the they have a surprise for the gamers.
"At the moment, we have major titles such as Dragon Quest Heroes and Final Fantasy Type-0 HD," he said.
"In 2015, I believe we will offer a vast number of high-end games in both the domestic market and overseas. Now that we've already announced Final Fantasy XV, we will also reveal information on [another] JRPG. I believe we have a bit of a surprise in store for this year."
While fans are patiently waiting for an official announcement about "Kingdom Hearts 3" release date, they are also clamoring to hear news about the game's new characters.
The Disney-themed RPG has long been rumored to include Marvel and Star Wars characters soon after Disney announced its acquisition to the said movie franchises.
And while co-creator Tai Yasue did not provide details about the rumors, he did acknowledge the possibility of Star Wars to enter the world of "Kingdom Hearts 3."
"I can't really go into any specifics or say anything about Star Wars, but when we come up with worlds we really want variety and to make sure that there's a lot of different types of worlds," Yasue answered in an interview with Kotaku.
But if Square Enix decided not to include Star Wars and Marvel characters in "Kingdom Hearts 3" its weapond could still appear in the RPG according to Motoring Crunch.
"Even if the likes of Captain America and Obi Wan Kenobi don't make it into Kingdom Hearts 3, we feel that Square Enix might introduce the weapons from the aforementioned worlds," the gaming publication mentioned.
The idea was apparently revealed to them by a source close to the gaming studio, claiming that Sora would "get the ability to wield a light saber," while Goofy could be getting added boost in its defense with the help of Captain America's shield.
