Floyd Mayweather Jr. – Manny Pacquiao Fight Extends In Sponsorship Deals. Who's Winning?

| By

Floyd Mayweather Jr. - Manny Pacquiao fight is expected to earn at least $300 million.

The fight, dubbed as the fight of the century, features two of the most polarizing boxers around. This may be late but it is what the public is eager to see, reason why it will not be hard for the fight to rake in millions of dollars.

While the Floyd Mayweather Jr. - Manny Pacquiao fight's expected earning is already tantalizing, that might be dwarfed by what the two will get in sponsorship deals on their boxing shorts and gloves.

Several companies area already striking deals with the two fighters to have their logos get patched in their shorts or hood. So far, it seems Manny Pacquiao is on the lead as Mayweather, according to reports, is not getting much endorsements.

The biggest sponsor right now for the Filipino fighter is clothing and shoe brand Nike who is about to launch a new line for Pacman. American snack brands Butterfinger and Wonder Pistachio are also expected to sign deals with him.

"It will be available exclusively at Foot Locker, Nike.com and Nike stores on the West Coast, where Pacquiao's U.S. fan base is the biggest. Pacquiao's royalties on the apparel line and his sponsor deals in the Philipines will push his 12-month endorsement income well over $5 million," said Kurt Badenhausen of Forbes Magazine.

Surely, people are more interested in the Floyd Mayweather Jr. - Manny Pacquiao fight. So is Mayweather Jr.

"Mayweather wears his lack of endorsements almost like a badge of courage. It keeps him from being beholden to any company, and Mayweather says he would rather have a piece of the action in any deal where he is involved," wrote Badenhausen.

"He also carries baggage from multiple domestic violence charges, as well as a three month jail sentence in 2012 in a plea deal over battery and harassment charges. Mayweather was the highest-paid athlete in the world between June 2013 and June 2014 with $105 million in earnings, but not a dime of that was from endorsements."

Floyd Mayweather Jr. - Manny Pacquiao fight is on May 2 at the MGM Grand Arena.
