Bikini Basketball League is the latest sport which will feature scantily-clad sexy women following the success of the Lingerie Football League.
According to its website, the Bikini Basketball League for "Sexy Athletic Ladies" has been around since 2011, but there have not been any games yet. The website promises it will be "a competitive basketball league."
There are seven teams so far which include the Atlanta Fleet Angels, Miami Spice, New York Knockouts, Hollywood Hotties, Orlando Lady Cats, L.A. Ice and Chicago Desire. The Bikini Basketball League will begin on Nov. 3, according to the website, and players, coaches, sponsors and the media are still welcome to join.
"This is a competitive basketball league, so we are definitely looking for girls that can really play," Miami Spice representatives told the Miami New Times. "It is also a bikini league in which the girls will be playing basketball in bikinis, so looking good in a bikini is a must." According to the report, tryouts for players will begin in Miami this weekend.
On Twitter, the league asked fans if a team should be in Philadelphia, asking fans to retweet if they want a Philly team.
"Players will be chosen based on skills, personality, athleticism, drive, competitiveness and looks," the flier reads. "Candidates expected to wear sports bra and shorts to try out."
"This is a competitive basketball league, so we are definitely looking for girls that can really play," a rep for the Miami team told the newspaper. "It is also a bikini league in which the girls will be playing basketball in bikinis, so looking good in a bikini is a must."
"They can expect to sweat their hair out and have their basketball skills tested," the rep continued. "Dribbling, shooting, passing, running, scrimmaging and more. We will also have a interview process where we ask them an array of questions to see if they have the mind-frame and personality that we seek."
