"Orphan Black" season 3 premiere has aired and it offered many things fans probably did not predict.
Male clones were formally introduced and although they filled spoiler news over the past months, it did not come without a shocking revelation.
It is true these new projects from Castor are after their female counterparts. What's shocking is their target is a never-before-seen Dyad clone. There is another female clone and her name is Krystal Goderich who two of the male clones (Ari Millen) tried to kidnap inside the premises of Dyad Institute.
While this "seestrah" definitely had fans in awe over Tatiana Maslany's convincing portrayal, the scene that got viewers the most is the Tatiana-ception.
In the "Orphan Black" season 3 premiere episode, Maslany's Sarah Manning pretended as Rachel Duncan while her other character Alison disguised as Sarah Manning. This is a bit of a headache if tried to be explained.
Talking to Entertainment Weekly shortly after the "Orphan Black" season 3 premiere episode, Maslany said it was one of the fun scenes she did in the set.
"That one was really fun because not only do we get to do two double clone situations-it was also the intro of James Frain's character and évelyne was in the scene and there were a lot of layers to it," she said adding that she is particularly having fun with Alison scenes who is the more innocent clone compared to Sarah.
"I love Alison playing anybody because she's always got an arch performance to it, and Sarah isn't as enthusiastic about it necessarily-she's just trying to survive. So it's fun to come at it from their different perspectives."
As for series co-creator John Fawcett, the character he is most excited about is James Frain's Ferdinand who in the "Orphan Black" season 3 premiere was involved in that Tatiana-ception scene.
"We really, really like this character. We really like James. He's such a dynamic, interesting, lovely guy and we really love the character and would love to see him return."
