While it's clear that Haim Saban is collaborating with Lionsgate for an all-new "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" movie reboot, it seems like the project is not going anywhere following the exit of supposed director, Roberto Orci.
However, with an exclusive report from The Wrap it looks like things are finally looking good for the project.
The publication reported that the studio company spearheading the reboot may have finally found Roberto Orci's replacement.
"Project Almanac" director Dean Israelite is reportedly in final negotiations with Saban and Lionsgate to become the new helmer of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" movie reboot.
And if the deal is finalized, a casting line up could be announced soon as well.
"With an extensive and extremely devoted worldwide fan base as well as a deep and detailed mythology, the Power Rangers are primed for the big screen," Lionsgate previously announced.
And while no actors are confirmed for "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" movie reboot, names of Chloe Grace Moretz, Taylor Lautner and Liam Hemsworth were all linked to the project.
Meanwhile, original cast member Jason David Frank, who played Green Ranger in the series has offered Saban his services in the reboot.
"I wanna be in the real 'Power Ranger' movie," Frank said a video posted on his Facebook account. "You know what I mean? So Lionsgate let's get this stuff going on be in the real movie. I've saved my character for so long. And when I bring my character out in like in the movies or something linke that I want it to be legit. I want it to be a Saban blessing approved project."
