Miley Cyrus to Star in 'Bonnie & Clyde' Miniseries

Miley Cyrus is in talks to play Bonnie in a new TV miniseries version of "Bonnie & Clyde" which will air on the History Channel and the Lifetime Channel, a source told Access Hollywood.

The former Disney Channel star, who appeared on the season premiere of Two and a Half Men, is in talks to star as Bonnie Parker. The series will be four hours long and will be written by John Rice and Joe Bateer who wrote "Windtalkers" and "Blown Away".

The show will be based on the true story of bank robbing couple Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. In the most famous screen version of the 1930s story to date, the 1967 Oscar-winning movie, Bonnie was played by Faye Dunaway.

No further details as to who will portray Clyde in the series. According to the report, Cyrus is said to be meeting with directors.

Lifetime will be releasing in Novemeber the heavily hyped Elizabeth Taylor bio-pic. Meanwhile, the History Channel had massive success over the summer with miniseries event "Hatfields and McCoys" averaging close to 14 million viewers over three nights. Kevin Costner and Tom Berenger recently won an Emmy for their role in the show.

Her most recent TV appearance will be on the season premiere of "Two and Half Men" in which she will play Missi, who gets romantically involved with Angus T. Jones' character, Jake. This will be her first TV starring role since the end of her hugely popular Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana."
