Following announcement that Marvel's "Doctor Strange" movie is slated for a Nov. 4, 2016 release date, new reports suggest that the production will most likely start in November.
Comic Book exclusively revealed that director Scott Derrickson is already gearing up for the start of production while the crew is looking for a location in New York.
"I've been talking about it for a long, long, long, long time, as we talked about Guardians (of the Galaxy) for a long, long time before it happened, and we talked about The Avengers for a long, long time before it happened, Kevin Feige told MTV of Marvel's "Doctor Strange."
Adding, "(Director) Scott Derrickson and the producing team are on a scout right now, finishing a scout in New York City for certain buildings that Doctor Strange inhabits. They're on their way to London, where we'll be doing principal photography, starting in November. It's great. Benedict (Cumberbatch) has been on a bit of a whirlwind tour up until now, but we're so excited. We are as excited to have him as he is to be a part of this universe. It's always a nice combination."
And while no other actors have been announced as part of the line up, Benedict Cumberbatch, who is confirmed to play the titular role, has expressed his excitement with his new project.
"Excited, really excited, you know," the newly wed English star said of "Doctor Strange" at the British Independent Film Awards as reported by Mirror.
"There's a lot of work to be done and I'm just at the beginning of it all so I'm not going to talk too much about it's a thrilling gig to get and I can't wait. Very excited."
Cumberbatch is not the only one who's excited for the movie, Feige also is excited to show the origin story of the Sorcerer Supreme with the award-winning star on board.
"Stephen Strange's story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity," Feige said. "In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character."
And as for the movie's plot, Christian Today reported that Derrickson has hinted that it will most likely feature the origin story of Doctor Strange.
The director took to Twitter to teased fans about the upcoming film, posting a photo made by Brandon Peterson where Stephen Strange was scene in a gurney with his hands all covered with bandages.
"Are you experienced?" The caption said.
It could be remembered that Feige previously told Screen Rant that Marvel is looking forward into featuring Doctor Strange because he has got the "best origins."
"With Strange, it is a classic Marvel origin story because he's got one of the best origins ever," he explained.
"And it's our opportunity to take that left turn into the supernatural. Now, what is the definition of supernatural? It varies. We like the idea of playing with alternate dimensions. The very sort of crazy - [Steve] Ditko crazy acid trip way of traveling through dimensions and traveling through other realms is something that we think is very, very cool ... playing with the perceptions of reality."
