While fans are excitingly waiting for the official release date of Red Hot Chili Pepper's new album, speculations suggest that it could happen this year.
The band members have been keeping details of the new album under wrap. However, Flea accidentally revealed a rather interesting information about the project.
The comical bassist shared a post to his Tweeter followers revealing that Red Hot Chili Peppers is about to start recording. In addition Flea also revealed the name of the previously "unnamed producer" who has been "challenging" them with this new album, Danger Mouse.
The Tweet was soon deleted, but Alternative Nation was able to grap the post.
While it's not clear why Flea had to delete the Tweet, Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer and Will Ferrell's doppelganger, Chad Smith previously said that the new album is well on its way.
While a new update has been made, Flea failed to mention anything about the new album's release date, unlike drummer Chad Smith's previous statement that they are most likely aiming for a 2015 launch.
"We've already recorded some of the songs, just a few that we've been working on. But this is also going to be in addition to those. It's a new process. I don't know how long it's going to take. We'll have a record out next year," the 53-year-old drummer told Rolling Stone last December.
Furthermore he also gamely shared some details about the upcoming new album where he mentioned that there is an "unnamed producer" the band is collaborating with.
"The new album is shaping up good, man," Smith said.
"We've got lots of songs, and we're working with an unnamed producer who is really challenging us to find new ways to come up with new music. We've done the 'guys get in the room and jam out songs, everybody playing together all at once' thing. And we wrote a bunch of songs that way. And we're now going to try another method that will be really challenging for us and will bring new, exciting results for the band. We've written and recorded in a way that we've never done before, so the record is going great. We all have high hopes that it's going to take off and we're going to do something very different and unique for the Red Hot Chili Peppers."
In a separate interview with Rolling Stone, Flea also revealed that they are done writing their new songs and it's all ready for rehearsing and eventually recording.
"We've been writing and rehearsing, rolling up our sleeves, getting in the studio and doing it," Flea claimed. "We're nearly finished writing. We'll go in the studio sometime in the next couple of months."
