Brian Wilson, Al Jardine and David Marks have been fired from their iconic band "The Beach Boys" during their 50th anniversary tour by Mike Love who controls the rights to the group's name.
According to EW, the last leg of the tour in London was scheduled for this week but it didn't stop Mike Love from firing the fellow band members. Love will be touring as the Beach Boys with Bruce Johnson and a back-up band which is rumored to include longtime Beach Boys friend John Stamos from "Full House" fame.
"The post-50th anniversary configuration will not include Brian Wilson, Al Jardine and David Marks. The 50th Reunion Tour was designed to be a set tour with a beginning and an end to mark a special 50-year milestone for the band," read a statement issued by Love.
The announcement comes five days after the band celebrated their five-decade career at the Grammy Museum opening in Los Angeles.
"I'm disappointed and can't understand why he doesn't want to tour with Al, David and me," Wilson told CNN. "We are out there having so much fun. After all, we are the real Beach Boys." Love will continue touring as the Beach Boys with Bruce Johnson and a back-up band.
The band is most well known for their chilled beach-style song "Kokomo". Watch the popular video below:
