Gorillaz is finally back after four years of being quiet!
Co-creator Jamie Hewlett revealed the big announcement on his Instagram account where he posted a new face of 2D, Murdoc, Noodle and Russel for this year.
While no announcement has been made if they are already working on a new album, everyone is expecting a new record from the English virtual band.
In an interview with Billboard, co-creator Damon Albarn gamely shared his experience in working on their last album as he revealed that it was created entirely using his iPad.
Furthermore, he also revealed that the previous album was done while on tour and was completely made spontaneously.
"I literally made it on the road," Albarn said. "I didn't write it before, I didn't prepare it. I just did it day by day as a kind of diary of my experience in America. If I left it until the New Year to release it then the cynics out there would say, 'Oh well, it's been tampered with', but if I put it out now they'd know that I haven't done anything because I've been on tour ever since."
"I would imagine there's some kind of future, but at the moment there's no time for the future - only the present," he said. "Who knows? I'm reluctant to say anything [about Blur], because if I do, it just gets taken out of context and then I'm accused of being a wind-up."
