"Jane The Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez has been enjoying a very successful career thanks to her role as a responsible, plan-obsessed virgin who got accidentally artificially inseminated by her boss' sperm.
She won a Golden Globe award for best actress in a comedy and is slowly establishing herself as one of the Latin community's best actresses.
The NYU Tisch School for the Arts graduate is going to be very busy during her break from "Jane The Virgin."
She just signed on to star in Ben Lewin's military romance movie, "Purple Hearts," Deadline reported.
According to Variety, the "Filly Brown" star will play the role of an aspiring musician who falls in love with a soldier that she marries "under false pretenses."
Aside from "Purple Hearts," "Jane The Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez will also be shooting another film. This time, in a disaster movie based off of the biggest oil spill in U.S. History.
"Deepwater Horizon," which is slated to come out in 2016, also stars Mark Wahlberg.
Meanwhile, the breakthrough actress just recently wrapped up filming for the "Jane The Virgin" finale. What should fans expect in the next couple of episodes left on the show?
"Anything could happen in Jane! Anything except her losing her virginity. You're not going to get that. She's going to wait 'til marriage but outside of that anything could happen," the Irish Examiner quoted the 30-year-old as saying.
Her co-star and love interest in the series, Justin Baldoni, also added that "there is nothing off the table" when it comes to the madness in Jane's world.
"And the season finale - once you watch it for the full 22 episodes, once it finishes, you will be like, 'I can't believe they went there!'" Baldoni continued.
"And you will take your remote and throw it at your TV and you'll be screaming, 'No! what?!' Because you're going to want the next episodes, and you're going to have to wait a whole six months."
