Leslie Jones Defends ‘Ghostbusters 3’ Female Version From Haters! Director Paul Feig Proud Of His Girls!

One of the lead stars of "Ghostbusters 3" finally speaks up against the haters of the reboot.

Some die-hard fans were not thrilled when they found out that Paul Feig will create a female version of the iconic franchise. The new movie will star Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. They are scheduled to start shooting this June.

During an interview with MTV News, the Saturday Night Live host sent out a message to all the Internet sadboys. "It's 'Ghostbusters,'" Leslie Jones told MTV. "Come on, man. It's not that hard to see women do a role that a man was supposed to do. I mean, get over it. It's just a movie, man."

Since Paul Feig was the one who came up with the idea of having a female version of "Ghostbusters", the director had to handle all the criticisms - both good and bad. "The Internet is really funny - I love it, but I hate it at the same time," he told Variety. "The first wave when you make an announcement like that is overwhelmingly positive. Everyone's so happy and you're like, 'This is great'. Then comes the second wave and you're like, 'Oh my God. Some of the most vile, misogynistic sh** I've ever seen in my life.'"

When the 52-year-old director gets a nasty remark, he sometimes looks up the person's profile on Twitter. "I figure it's some wacked-out teenager. But almost constantly it's someone who's bio says 'Proud father of two!' And has some high-end job," he said. "You're raising children and yet you're bashing me about putting women in my movie?"

Aside from Paul Feig's "Ghostbusters 3", there were reports that a male version is also being made and it will allegedly star Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt. The filmmaker wasn't worried about the competition. "Who knew there were so many ghosts to be busted in the world?" he said. "All I know is my ladies are going to kick ass, and I would not want to go into battle without them."
