"Scandal" season 4 episode 19 titled "I'm Just a Bill" killed it again.
After some few lackluster episodes, the ABC drama finally found its mojo back with an episode featuring the return of Rowan Pope (Joe Morton).
The case the gladiators worked on was a good one but that hardly mattered at the end episode because of a very shocking scene. The episode as a whole killed but it also killed off one of fan favorites, leaving many followers sad and disappointed.
No more Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) in the remaining "Scandal" season 4 episode as in the last few minutes, he was stabbed to death by someone who is really close to his former lover and lead character Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington).
Russell (Brian White), who for the last few episodes has been very intimate with Liv turned out to be someone else. The episode started with Papa Pope talking to his daughter and at the end of that conversation, Russell was seen tied up, down on the floor.
The leader of the gladiators rushed to free him when her father left. The two even had sex after that tense confrontation with the B613 command.
Turned out, Olivia was just used as an accessory by Russell. At the end of the latest "Scandal" season 4 episode, Russell sneaked into Gladiators' headquarter and waited for Jake Ballard to arrive.
They jumped on each other immediately. Jake seems to be winning until Russell bring out a knife and stabbed the former B613 command on the stomach. Jake could do nothing and to make sure he won't survive, Russell stabbed him multiple times from different parts of the body.
Knowing how "Scandal" works, it is hard to tell if killed off characters, especially the major ones, are indeed dead. Some cast members have returned, left, and returned again in the show. As for Foley, people might have to rest the idea that he is still alive.
A recent "Scandal" season 4 episode guide has been released and it features the remaining characters discussing the death of Jake. The worst part of it is that neither of them are safe as Papa Pope is out for the heads of people investigating B613.
Another thing that will make people think Scott Foley will not return in any of the remaining "Scandal" season 4 episodes is his tweet right after the episode. Joshua Malina, who plays Attorney General David Rosen, also sent his thanks to the actor.
UPDATE:
It seems Scott Foley's Jake Ballard is not dead after all. Several photos for the April 30 episode have been leaked and one of it features Ballard in bed with several patches on the body. Check the photos here and be the judge.
