Hollywood was hit by a shock wave Thursday when Los Angeles Police announced the death of Jonny Lewis, former “Sons of Anarchy” actor.
Lewis, police said, was found dead Wednesday in the driveway of a house in Los Angeles. The nature of the actor’s death is still unclear but inside the same house, an elderly woman was also found dead. Catherine Davis, 70, owned the house and, according to TMZ, may have been renting a room to Lewis at the time of both of their deaths.
Sources reportedly heard the woman screaming inside her home and noticed a group of men fighting before one man, believed to be Lewis, climbed onto the roof. It is unclear as to whether Lewis may have fallen to his death or jumped from the roof, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Cleon Joseph.
Joseph said Lewis, 28, was also dead in the home's driveway after either falling or jumping off the roof.
The officer said the circumstances around the deaths were still being investigated on Thursday.
"Detectives believe that he may have committed the murder," Joseph said of Lewis, adding that the motive was unknown.
Lewis had a supporting role in the first two seasons of "Sons of Anarchy," a television drama featuring an outlaw motorcycle club. He played Kip "Half Sack" Epps, an Iraq War veteran who hangs out with the biker club featured in the show.
The Los Angeles-born Lewis previously had recurring roles in the TV shows "Boston Public" and "The O.C."
