There are two major characters who almost said goodbye in the last episode of CW TV series "Arrow." First is Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) who disguised as the Emerald Archer to prevent Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) from going to prison. Inside the jail, he was stabbed by one of the wardens but turned out, it was part of the plan to fake his death. Another one who 'almost' died was Thea (Willa Holland) who was killed by Ra's al Ghul in the last few minutes of the show. Almost because according to the latest "Arrow" season 3 episode guide/video promo, she will be resurrected through the use of Lazarus Pit. Fans who read comics know the explanation about this.
Both Roy and Thea survived the latest episode. However, only one of them will remain in Starling City. Team Arrow has to fake the death of Roy and to do that, the young vigilante has to leave the city for good. "Arrow" season 3 episode guide for "The Fallen" has been released and there was no mention of Colton Haynes' character. Even executive produce Greg Berlanti confirmed Haynes is no longer part of the show.
Talking to Buzzfeed about the events in "Arrow" season 3 episode 19, Berlanti said the exit of Roy Harper will be a huge setback for Team Arrow, especially now that they are about to confront more challenges as the season reach the finale.
"It's going to be really challenging for Team Arrow," executiver producer Marc Guggeinheim said of rest of Season Three. "First the loss of Roy and there is more stuff coming for the remaining threesome of Oliver, Diggle [David Ramsey], and Felicity [Emily Bett Rickards] that is not going to get neatly resolved by the end of the year. We shot a scene last night where Diggle [David Ramsey] talks about the hurt feelings and broken trust. That will resonate not only through the remaining episodes of the season, but into Season Four."
Rumors have it Colton Haynes will be moving back to "Teen Wolf" and he might also have part in the upcoming "Arrow" - "Flash" spinoff series.
The next "Arrow" season 3 episode will air next week. No more breaks until the finale.
