Benedict Cumberbatch's first baby will be making his or her presence known soon and no one is more excited than the daddy-to-be himself.
"I'm so excited to meet my child and it's a huge part of my life and it'll be the most important part of my life, as it should be," he recently gushed to ET Canada.
He and pregnant wife Sophie Hunter are currently doing a bit of nesting before the little one is born. Although no specific date was given, the recently-married couple are reportedly looking forward to a summer baby.
The impending birth isn't stopping both parents from working hard, though.
Future daddy Cumberbatch has been seen in various events with and without his lovely wife. They even attended most of the award shows earlier this year, due to the 38-year-old recognition as an exceptional actor in "The Imitation Game."
Mrs. Cumberbatch isn't just staying at home either. According to Glamour Magazine, she will be directing a Greek tragedy at the Enniskillen International Beckett Festival this summer.
The theater actress and director will be working on Benjamin Britten's "Phaedra" which will be staged at the Necarne Castle in Northern Ireland. It will run from July 3 to August 3.
Although she's heavy with Benedict Cumberbatch's first baby, Hunter will be working hard to give the audience an "intimate experience in an epic space".
Meanwhile her husband of three months is also currently preparing to balance his work and personal life. For this, he revealed that he's looking at his actor friends as role models.
He mentioned Daniel Day-Lewis, Mark Strong, and his "Sherlock" co-star Martin Freeman as great examples of actors who are great in the their work but are also amazing as fathers.
"I think what children do is enhance your life, they don't inhibit it," he added. "They don't limit it, they give you inspiration and depths of understanding of the human condition and what it is to be on this planet and what our purpose is, that goes well beyond anything a childless actor could hope for."
